You will be recording a video of yourself for activity 6, so we need to get you prepared. Your goal is to have some experience creating a video resume. (pronounced: REZ-ew-may) A resume is a document that tells someone about who you are and what kinds of things you have done.
Step 1- Create the document for your script
- Click here to open the document for making your own script.
- Make your own document by clicking on 'file' & then 'Make a copy'.
- Change the name of the document from:
'Digital Video - Activity 5' to "Your name" - Activity 5
- Double click on the blank lines in your own copy and then fill in your own information...
for example:
"Hi, my name is _______ and I am in _______th grade at GMS."
will become
" Hi, my name is Andy and I am in 7th grade at GMS."
Fill in the entire script document this way then look at the next step.
Step 2- Use a Teleprompter!
* This is how real newscasters and actors read their script when recording video
You will be using a 'web-based app' called Cue prompter to read your script from when you do your recording for the next activity.
Open this link, to get to "Cue Prompter"
Click 'the star' to make a bookmark for Instaprompter, you'll be needing it again.
Paste your document into Instaprompter and try to make the words move down your screen.
Don't forget to press 'Ctrl C' to copy & 'Ctrl V' to paste.
When you are done, ask your teacher to sign the activity and start reading it.
