Step 1- Start the Activity
-Step 1: In snap circuit experiment #242, you will create a working AM radio. (If you carefully follow directions!)
After you have created the experiment, you will need to go out in the hall to get an AM radio station signal.
These large types of radio waves don't pass through walls well!
Ask your teacher before going into the hall.
Experiment #306 is a variation of the AM radio that you may try if the first one did not work well.
The controls for the radio are fragile, and very touchy.
Be patient and careful.
-Step 2: For snap circuit experiment #316, you will create a working FM radio. It should scan through the band to find strong FM stations. (Just like a car radio)
Show your teacher when you have this FM radio station working.
Experiment #307 is a variation of the FM radio.
Note the differences between Experiments #316 and #307.
-Step 3: #308 is A DIGITAL VOICE RECORDER that you can build.
What will you record?
-Extra Credit:
Is there really a radio broadcast shooting through the room right now? Is it going through you right now?!
