You will learn to use a free Computer Aided Drafting Program called 'TinkerCAD' to create designs that may later be 3D printed either at GMS in the Tech Ed Module Lab or at Cora Belden Library!
Some cool videos about 3D printed objects
1. Innovative Designer (ISTE Standard 4):Students use a variety of technologies within a design process to identify and solve problems by creating new, useful, or imaginative solutions.
The assignment engages students in the design process using TinkerCAD, where they can create unique 3D models that solve design challenges or fulfill specific project requirements.
2. Computational Thinker (ISTE Standard 5): Students develop and employ strategies for understanding and solving problems in ways that leverage the power of technological methods to develop and test solutions.
By utilizing TinkerCAD, students apply computational thinking to develop their designs, experimenting with different tools and features to create functional and aesthetically pleasing 3D models.
3. Global Collaborator (ISTE Standard 7):Students use digital tools to broaden their perspectives and enrich their learning by collaborating with others and working effectively in teams locally and globally.
The assignment encourages collaboration, as students may share their designs with peers or seek feedback, enhancing their learning experience through shared insights and teamwork.
