In this activity, you will have you improve the ever-changing skill of finding (meaningful) information on the Internet. We have all used ‘Google’ & ‘Yahoo’ to find information before, it’s incredibly easy to find a wealth of information. The problem is that there is so much information out there that we could spend a lifetime looking through the Internet; and not come close to seeing a small fraction of it!
Unfortunately there is no ‘magic button’ that will give you exactly the results that you are looking for. Knowing how to use just a few tools, and using the right tool for the job will save you a lot of time.
Not only will you have to go sift through the good information that is out there, you will also need to be able to filter out all of the ‘garbage’. Part of being a good ‘digital citizen’ is being able figure out how to get the information that you want, without wasting time. Keep practicing and keep learning!
Good Luck & Have Fun!
Never forget that there are countless web pages out there that contain useless, or sometimes completely false information. Your job is to search through these sites to get the information that you need.
