Hello I am Caleb LaPoint, and I’m part of the Yearbook & Communications class, and I love Photography. On this blog, I’ll be sharing stories about The Student's and Staff's interest inside and outside of school. Outside of class, I enjoy Playing Video Games, Listening to Music, and Playing in Sports. I’m excited to keep you updated on what’s happening in our school and community!
Photography is my passion. In the gallery to the left, you'll find a collection of my work that you can browse through. Each photo I've taken holds a special place in my heart, capturing moments that tell their own unique stories and speak in ways words never could.
Recently I have asked 117 9-12th graders whether they have played the game “Phasmophobia” and
40 responded:
With these results, 32.5% (13 people out of 40) of the respondents have played the game. I am shocked by people knowing/playing Phasmophobia.
I asked the people who have played the game, and what they would rate it out of 10. 11 out of 13 of them responded and this was there rating:
The respondents had an average of 8 out of 10 for reasons like: Easier ghost, More cursed possessions (items that can give you a advantage or give you a disadvantage), More Gear, Animation; Outfit; Physics changes, and a different set up. I can agree with some of their reasons like: more gear, cursed possessions, and different outfits, but I would rate the game a 9. I have seen this game develop over the years and I have liked the progress that they have made.
Tequilas is a Mexican restaurant located in Northwood, Iowa. This place was made in 2010 and got a huge expansion on November 10th 2016. I chose this place because it was my childhood restaurant and would love their food every time I had it. The restaurant is owned by Manuel Ramirez. Manuel has went through a lot to get the restaurant built to the point he was almost in debt. His wife didn't see the full potential of the restaurant at the time, but soon after the expansion, everything started rolling in. I interviewed my mom on Tequilas and she said this about the restaurant: "Friendly staff, good food. It was a good family friendly environment." I then asked her if she had to recommend something to get there, what would you tell them: "Taco salad, it is one of my favorites and there is nothing wrong about it. It is made to perfection."

Schools have many different things when you go up in grade through out the years, one of them being responsibilities. The school expects you to live up to your age and you get rewards for that. I asked 7th Grader Colton Reinke on "Whats the biggest change from elementary school to middle school?" I chose Colton Reinke because I knew he was somebody who would talk to anyone with confidence and is not as scared as I was when I went from elementary to middle School.
"Having more freedom, being able to walk to classes not in line and not being constantly watched." - Colton Reinke
I could agree there is more freedom when it comes to moving up in schools like elementary to middle school, then to high school. With the move up though they expect a lot out of you and to be smart about your decisions.
I asked 3 students on what they did during spring break and how they felt that spring break is over, and they said this:
The place I liked most was.... My cousins house
The best meal I ate was... Texas Roadhouse
Every single day I... Drink an energy drink
The best time was when... Going to Dave N Busters
The funniest moment was... Making jokes at my cousins house
I was exhausted after I... Going to the zoo
What I miss most about spring break is... Not being at school
The place I liked most was.... Trampoline Park (Waterloo)
The best meal I ate was... Olive Garden
Every single day I... Swim
The best time was when... Hitting a double front flip
The funniest moment was... Hitting a kid with a dodgeball
What I miss most about spring break is... Being in Waterloo
The place I liked most was.... Waterloo
The best meal I ate was... Olive Garden
Every single day I... Had fun
The best time was when... Hanging out with Zoey
The funniest moment was... Tripping a kid on a trampoline
I was exhausted after… the trampoline park
What I miss most about spring break is... Freedom
If I were to answer the questions I would said:
The place I liked most was.... My House (may or may not have been the only place I was at)
The best meal I ate was... Chicken Alfredo
Every single day I... Went to work
The best time was when... Seeing all my coworkers and joking around
The funniest moment was... Stuff that went on at work
I was exhausted after... The whole week of working.
What I miss most about spring break is... Sleep

Why are you not going to prom? "Would but couldn't because of being a freshman."
What are you most excited about? "Winning and (or) earning prizes."
What are your prom plans? "Go out to eat with all my friends and then head to prom."
When did you go to prom? April 20th, 2024 (last year).
What was your most memorable moment at prom? "Going to the CRC and swimming for after prom."
Any advice you would tell people for prom: "Just go out, be with your friends and have fun."
According to the Article that I have posted above, there is so many benefits of going to prom with friends such as: Completing squad goals (being together, having a theme, taking pictures, and etc), Having a stress free prom night, and creating memories that will strengthen your bond between you and your friends.
If I had to put in my opinion of prom I would say that it's worth going. So many people have fun with their friends and you only live a high school life once. Try everything and get out of your comfort zone. I would like to explain it as an experiment and figure out the person you are and have a good time with your friends and family.
I have gone to prom (I'm in the picture with David Kersten) so it was a fun time being able to see everyone and the after prom made the night 10 times better. It was such a great time and an experience I am never going to miss.
To continue on this topic, I asked Colson Johnson on how he felt before going to prom, during, and after the night and he said this;
How did you feel before going to prom? "Excited, was glad to meet my friends and looking towards a great night."
How did you feel during the night? "There was times when it got boring but still was having a good time."
How did you feel after prom? "Very tired, it was a good night of having fun and got exhausted after."
When I went to prom I can agree there was times like this of being so excited and boring, but through the night I still had a very great time and passed out like no other that same night.
E-Sports can be a good alternative for many kids who like to be very competitive, but don't wanna get hurt. There is even a chance that some people do it because it's something they already do at home. Many kids, especially I think around us, love to play video games. E-Sports allow them kids to try to go against many other people competitively in video games that they love! I asked a few selected students between a few questions: and they said this
Trey Stevens 10th Grade
If you had a chance to join an E-Sports team, would you and why? Probably not since I already participate in year-round sports.
Do you think other kids at Rockford would join and if so, how many? Yes, gaming is a big part of most kids' lives. I believe we could easily get 10-15 students to participate.
How would E-Sports benefit or be positive for our school? By joining E-Sports it may be what students need to get them into more extracurricular activities such as sports and clubs.
Kenneth Stiles 10th Grade
If you had a chance to join an E-Sports team, would you and why? Yes, because I believe it’s fun
Do you think other kids at Rockford would join and if so, how many? They might join and at least a group of people
How would E-Sports benefit or be positive for our school? E-sports would benefit the school because people could win money
Demetirus Flores 9th Grade
If you had a chance to join an E-Sports team, would you and why? Yes, because it's more opportunity in the school and I believe more kids would wanna join.
Do you think other kids at Rockford would join and if so, how many? Yes, I would believe more people would wanna join rather than sports.
How would E-Sports benefit or be positive for our school? Gives us more to do, and can barely do any sports for the school.
Camry Linde 9th Grade
If you had a chance to join an E-Sports team, would you and why? Maybe, try something new.
Do you think other kids at Rockford would join and if so, how many? Yes, roughly more than a single sport.
How would E-Sports benefit or be positive for our school? It would get more people out for things and maybe it would get our school recognized
If I were to answer the questions I would say this:
If you had a chance to join an esports team, would you and why? I would because I do like to play video games and having a chance maybe to get my friends to join and have a fun time apart from being only at home seems fun.
Do you think other kids at Rockford would join and if so, how many? I do think some might, whether if its just a group of people or maybe even more.
How would E-Sports benefit or be positive for our school? I think E-Sports would be positive by giving kids a chance to try something new and being able to be competitive, without getting hurt or being in a contact sport.
I asked the 9th Graders a variety of questions on their summer break, and 10 out of 19 of them said this:
Playing Sports
Get warmer out
More sleep
Money
Stay out of trouble
and Fun
If I were to be answering I would say: I will be working this summer, I have no idea on field trips this summer (probably not), and for it to be successful summer break I would wanna hangout with friends more often and mess around, then of course play the best sport of them all (baseball).
