I’m part of the Yearbook & Communications class, and I love being able to see and take pictures of sporting events that I am passionate about. On this blog, I’ll be sharing stories about outdoors, sports, and other things I am interested in knowing about the students of RRMR.
Outside of class, I enjoy hunting, listening to music, and being in the mountains. I’m excited to keep you updated on what’s happening in our school and community!

Hey there! I am a big fan of ice fishing and it got me wondering, what does the rest of the school think about it? Do they go ice fishing? I decided to put out a survey to answer this question that I had in my head. Out of the 117 kids that I sent this out to, I got 60 responses, and this was the results. On my survey I gave 4 options to the question “Do you ice fish?” To my surprise over 60% of the responses were “Not at all” followed by a 20% of “Rarely”. I was kinda surprised to see such a swing in percentages. It only got worse from there as 18.3% said “Sometimes” and a depressing 1.7% said “Yes Often”. I personally thought there would be more people that partake in it regularly when the water is frozen for such a limited time. Unfortunately I was wrong but it was still cool to get some responses.

Here at Rockford we have varied interests in a lot of subjects. A certain broad subject is games. Have you ever wondered what some of the students at Rockford like to play? Maybe what their favorite game of all time is? I decided to ask 5 random people, here is what they said...
"UNO the card game"
"GTA"
"Roblox"
"Darts"
"Dead by Daylight"
I think it was cool to see the small variety in game interests in Rockford, I am sure the results could be much more wide spread if given more asking around!

Just outside of the small town of Rockford, Iowa is the Fossil & Praire Park. This place is known for its ancient history and Devonian fossils that can be found and kept.
Fossil & Prairie Park in Iowa is a where you can find fossils that are over 350 million years old! A long time ago, this area was covered by a sea, and when the water dried up, it left behind fossils of sea creatures. The park was created in the 1970s so people could learn about these cool fossils and the history of the area. Today, visitors can explore the park, see the fossils, and enjoy walking through the beautiful trails, visting the kilns, and taking home a fossil maybe!?!
I have been to the fossil park many times and I wanted to know what another person would think about the fossil parks impact, so I decided to ask Taylor Johnson
Q. How old were you when you first went to the fossil park
A. "6ish"
Q. How often do you annually attend the Fossil Parks?
A. "Probably 20 times or more"
Q. Whats your most favorite activity there?
A. "Umm, I'll say fishing"

For my interview questions I decided to talk to Hayden Koenigsfeld, my topic is called Rookie Athlete, where I ask them about their struggles and how they adjusted coming up as a athlete.
Q. "What was the biggest surprise about joining the team?"
A. "How boring the first day was"
Q. " Who has been the most influential teammate for you?"
A. "Ben or Christian"
Q. " What challenges did you face as a new member?"
A. "Talking to people I guess"
Q. " How did you overcome them?"
A. " I haven't"
I found Hayden's responses to the questions not very surprising at all to be honest, I kinda knew how he was feeling about being in the sport again.

It is quite interesting as prom first originated in Greece and spread thought the world to America. The first American proms started coming alive in the late 1800's and early 1900's and it only grew from there.
My personal reflection on prom was a mix of fear and excitement. I had heard lots of good things about it and how fun it was. But at the same time I was scared for grand march specifically. The mixed feelings grew as we grew closer but I then realized you just gotta be in the moment and take a deep breath and all is fun and well!

I personally have had the chance to participate in baseball in all of my years of availability and I have enjoyed every bit of it. As we near the start of practices on May 5th everybody gets ready to get the season underway on May 23rd.
