Hi, I am Addison Brockney and I am a senior trying to give advice to the underclassmen. For some people, high school is long, draining, and rough! And for the rest of the people, it's a breeze and they have no problem with it. I am here to tell all of you underclassmen that highschool WILL be rough sometimes. You just have to learn how to push through it. Here are some tips that I would like to include before continuing with an interview I conducted on Eric Hoard, a senior.
Always stay strong and consistent: Juniors, or when you guys become juniors, just know this year you have to try your absolute hardest and continue to stay focused on your work, grades, and classes. This is the year colleges look at most when considering you. You do not need to be perfect, but just don't let the stress build up or you are going to explode...
Take care of yourself: Taking care of yourself is so important. When stressed, it can be hard to have the motivation to do anything, even when it comes to yourself. Always remind yourself to do what makes you happy. Taking care of yourself doesn't mean you have to do your skin care, or shower 4 times a day. It can also mean giving yourself positive pep talk and making sure you know that you will be okay.
It's okay to not have it all figured out: Some people think that they have to have it all figured out by junior year... you don't. Yes it would be nice to have a complete plan but sometimes people need more time to think and decide. Going to college is a huge step in your life and it's scary to see that some people have everything set in place for them. Senior year is the time when you can really find out who you aspire to be, don't let it scare you away from that opportunity and experience.

"Just do it. It is only high school and if you don't participate in this opportunity, you might never get the chance again."
"Condition yourself to get used to doing work before anything else. It gives you the free time to do what you want."
"Definitely taking initiative and stepping out of my comfort zone. As well as actually applying for a different college other than NIACC and also talking to Pike a lot for college advice."
