Seafront Pubs & Bars
Again, we don't aim to list all the pubs & bars on the seafront, just some of the more noteworthy ones
1. The Master Mariner - nice old independent pub, in the Marina, right by the waterside, with good traditional pub food
2. Wetherspoons - giant chain pub, with good value food & drink and a terrace overlooking the boats & water. See the Starlings flying in group formation - the murmurations - as they roost at dusk under the pier
3. The Bristol Bar - great traditional pub with food. Get a table in the huge window for great views across the sea to the pier
4. Legends - a bit more sophisticated gay bar with DJs, music and lovely terrace overlooking the pier, great for an early evening drink at sunset. Cabaret drag shows every Monday evening and Sunday afternoon. Fun little club downstairs most nights from 11pm until 3am, with free entry
5. Volks Bar & Club - Alternative bar, club and diner with outside terrace, down on the lower seafront, with alternative music, DJs and lots of late club nights, including drum & bass, ska, punk and mod, etc
6. FunkyFish Bar & Club - Fun little club playing funk, disco, dance and house classics, plus an airy bar with sea & pier views. Dance nights every Fri (free) & Sat (£5) from 10pm, playing 70s, 80s & 90s classics! Cheesy fun!!
7. The Amsterdam - seafront hotel, with gay bar, kitchen and terrace. Sit out front with a drink overlooking the pier
8. Patterns - seafront music & dance club, with bar and terrace. DJs and music every night with more hard core dance nights in the hot & sweaty basement club at least every Saturday
9. Charles Street Tap - next door to Revenge, another big gay bar with heated outdoor terrace and a nightclub upstairs. DJs, event nights and some drag shows. We love Sally Vate's Sunday evening drag cabarets!
10. Bar Revenge - big cheap & cheerful gay bar with drink promos, linked to Club Revenge
11. Horatios Bar - great location out at the end of the pier, but otherwise a nothing special, traditional pub
12. Ohso Social - right on the beach, family friendly bar restaurant with heated outdoor seats serving fish'n'chips & burgers and buzzing bar by night
13. Doctor Brightons - an old Brighton mixed gay boozer with an ecclectric crowd, pool table, sofas, and cocktail list plus DJs and music Fri & Sat nights
14. Tempest Inn - Seafood menu at this cavernous, contemporary pub venue located right on the beach, lots tables outside on the prom
15. Fortune Of War - quirky old seafront pub with a wooden roof spanning the arches of this subterranean venue, plus lots of seating out on the prom
16. Brighton Music Hall Bar & Kitchen - a Brighton institution in the arches under the prom, huge outdoor pub with live music performances every day
