Each week, teachers identify a student as the WOW student of the week. These students are highlighted for going above and beyond in some area. Teachers share the reason with the class. Each student gets a certificate, a coupon for a free donut from Donut Chain and has their picture shared in the flyer.
Note: If your student has dietary preferences that conflict with donuts, let me know and we have some alternatives.
Let's hear it for ...
Sophia Mirza (Ortlieb), Nixon Miller (Lawrence), Hannah Roush (Wong), Kenan Zekanovic (Hoffman), Valerie Bernal Sanchez (Leonard), Noah Ras (Blankenship), Samantha Avila (Ramos), Benjamin Lynch (Garcia), Stella Soave (Fano), Chloe Yokyingyong (Kiblinger/Mora), Chyley Fritz (Gill), Payton French (Seitz), Kairavi Patel (Marasco), Daniel Miller (Amaya), Corinne Fehr (Pipkin), Rody Rescobar (Simmons/Cruz - 5th), Jocelyn Barrera (Cruz/Simmons - 6th)
PYLUSD is having a friendly competition between the schools for the month of February! Wagner has been paired with a few of our fellow schools.
Our attendance for February 2025 was 95.2%. How much can we improve our attendance to help bring the cup home to Wagner?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week 1: +0.5% attendance!
--> Week 2: +0.62% attendance <--
Our average daily attendance for this week was 95.8%!
That's even better than last week!
Not only does that mean more students are learning each day, but also experiencing our community each day. Win for us!
Will it be enough for us to take the district world cup of attendance?
It's that time again! Each year, PYLUSD sends out surveys to all of our families. We look at the results as a district, BUT we also look at it as a school site. At Wagner, we care what you think.
Individually, we read and consider every single comment. We also look for trends so that we are building on where we are strong and growing where we need to take next steps. This works best with as many responses as possible. Please help!
We have two new Wildcats joining us!
Ms. Rowden is our new 4th-6th grade vocal teacher! She joins us with a wealth of music and music education experience. Welcome, Ms. Rowden!
Ms. Whightman is our long term substitute joining Mrs. Ramos's class. Mrs. Ramos is now on maternity leave. Ms. Whightman completed her student teaching in PYLUSD and has been surving as a substitute teacher. Welcom, Ms. Whightman!
Plus, who knew the Wagner Wildcat and the Chik Fil A Cow were best friends?!
