Each week, teachers identify a student as the WOW student of the week. These students are highlighted for going above and beyond in some area. Teachers share the reason with the class. Each student gets a certificate, a coupon for a free donut from Donut Chain and has their picture shared in the flyer.
Note: If your student has dietary preferences that conflict with donuts, let me know and we have some alternatives.
Let's hear it for ...
Zander Lopez (Ortlieb), Henry Wallace (Lawrence), Rion Motohashi Chow (Wong), Liam Ortega (Hoffman), Levi Aranda (Leonard), Rylie Perry (Blankenship), Elliot Tan (Ramos), Cynthia Munoz Lara (Garcia), Enzo Balbin (Fano), Teagan Murphy (Kiblinger/Mora), Hannah Ruiz (Hanna), Delylah Betancourt (Gill), Layla Castillo (Seitz), Samara Edelman Nhem (Marasco), Thomas Wright (Amaya), Dean Kim (Pipkin), Judah Hwang (5th - Simmons/Cruz), Samuel McCarty (6th - Simmons/Cruz)
Make-up picture day is on Tuesday! Please note that some of the flyers that went home had the incorrect day. If your student took a picture on picture day, you should have received a proof picture sent home so you can see if you want your child to take a new picture. Please make sure your child knows you want them to retake their picture. Please also message your child's teacher so that we know to send them.

Check out these first grade researchers! Groups of students were tasked with reseraching animals and creating visual model maps of their research. They'll use them later to help with writing. During this learning, students collaborated, communicated ideas with each other, and engaged as young researchers. Here they are!
It was so nice to see so many families come out and have a good time at Chuck E Cheese. Thank you to all those who made it!
6th Graders are reading Hatchet and are having great discussions about the book! While they read the book, they also make predictions based on the text, talk about author moves, character, and more.
What do you do when a school event is cancelled? Have tons of fun in a math day! Kinder spent part of the morning doing turkey math!
When the rain comes, get cozy with a book and a flashlight. Check out these first graders loving their flashlight reading.
