Wildcat of the Week (WOW) Students
Wildcat of the Week (WOW) Students
Each week, teachers identify a student as the WOW student of the week. These students are highlighted for going above and beyond in some area. Teachers share the reason with the class. Each student gets a certificate, a coupon for a free donut from Donut Chain and has their picture shared in the flyer.
Note: If your student has dietary preferences that conflict with donuts, let me know and we have some alternatives.

Our great attendance continued into this week! We had strong attendance through Thursday. Friday was one of our lowest attendance days yet. We're looking forward to having them back at school on Tuesday!
Starting next week, we will be introducing attendance class incentives!

Monday is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This national holiday celebrates the life and impact of Dr. Martin Luther King. It is also a national day of service in honor of the impact he had through advocacy for civil rights in the USA.
All schools will be closed in observance of the holiday.
Thank you to Mr. Blankenship's first grade class for sharing their dreams for our country with us.

Our new show has been announced! The 2026 Wagner Theater Production will be ... Aladdin!
Here are some important dates.
January 26th @ 6:00pm - Parent Information Night in MPR
February 25th @ 2:30 - Audition day!
March 3 - April 28th - Rehearsals at Wagner on Tuesdays from 2:30 - 4:30
May 11/12 - Tech Rehearsals
May 13/14 - Dress Rehearsals
May 16/17 - Shows at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm

Thank you to all who were able to join us for Donuts with Grownups today! Shout out to our PTA for organizing this wonderful community event. Our strong and connected community is one of my favorite things about Wagner, and it was such a joy to see so many of our families come out this morning!

K-5 Possible ELA Curriculum Review
30 Day Public Curriculum ReviewOn December 15, 2025, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District initiated a 30-day public review of K-5 ELA curriculum adoption and implementation for the 2026-2027 school year. The display will also include a novel to be added to the Core and Extended Reading List. The review display will be set up at the PYLUSD district office, and members of the PYLUSD community will be able to visit the display to review hardcopy and digital materials during office hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Those visiting the public review display will be able to submit feedback and/or comments through a digital feedback form.
