"Some of my favorite moments abroad include exploring the history of Italian culture and cuisine in HIST 360, as well as visiting many Italian small businesses during our Supply Chain class. Beyond the classroom, I had the opportunity to explore Florence's stunning churches, museums, gardens, and enjoy the city like a local. Along the way, I formed lasting friendships and ventured into other European cities, making the experience even more unforgettable.
I chose my education abroad program because I wanted to pursue an international business minor while studying in Italy. Penn State Global and my advisors recommended this program because it was led by Smeal faculty and aligned perfectly with my goals. The program was also reasonably affordable, and I received scholarships through the Smeal College of Business to support my travels.
What surprised me most about studying abroad was how different the lifestyle is in Italy. I was also amazed at how easy it was to travel around Europe by train and explore other cities. However, the biggest shock came when I returned home and realized that everything had stayed the same, despite the life-changing experiences I had gone through.
This is an amazing opportunity that you should definitely take advantage of! I met some of my best friends in Florence and gained so much confidence in myself! "
