Nicholas' Education Abroad Experience

"I chose this program because I am interested in the criminal justice system, especially the offender side, and this program fit into my schedule and caught my attention. Plus, going to London has always been a goal of mine, and going with a group of peers made it seem less intimidating.

While I was in London, I participated in every activity and event, so I wouldn't miss an opportunity to learn more about the city. Each activity the program offered was so different and always interesting, but still tied to the class material. In addition to meeting some great people while abroad, I got to meet some locals and talked about different perspectives, and was able to understand their culture more. Talking with the locals and fully immersing myself in the program were some of the best highlights of my time in London. One of my favorite parts of the excursion was going to Old Bailey and having the rare chance to sit down with Judge Judy Khan and talk about the differences in judicial systems. Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

My piece of advice to students thinking about education abroad programs is to always apply! I almost didn't apply because I was worried about finances and scheduling. But I'm so glad I applied, because not only did it all work out, it helped me graduate early and I got to London. So always apply!"
