About Kayla: Kayla Johnson is a fourth-year Sociology major with a Legal Studies minor who studied abroad through a criminal law internship program in London, England. During her internship, she worked closely with a criminal defense law firm, gaining hands-on experience with casework, client communication, and observing proceedings in court. Outside of her internship, she participated in a photography class and visited numerous photo galleries across London, connecting with the city’s rich artistic culture. This combination of professional and creative experiences broadened her perspective on both law and culture. Inspired by the impact of studying abroad, Kayla became a peer adviser to help other students navigate their options and discover how these experiences can shape their academic and professional journeys.
Advice to Prospective Education Abroad Students: Studying abroad is such an amazing way to push yourself, meet new people, and experience life from a whole new perspective. I know it can feel overwhelming to figure out how it fits with your major or schedule, but there are so many options. I’m more than happy to share my experience and help you sort through your choices so you can find a program that works for you.
