About Hunter: Hunter is a senior majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) and minoring in Psychology. Her first study abroad experience was through CAMS 15, an embedded program that traveled to Greece over Spring Break 2024. The program had planned excursions in Athens, Olympia, Petra, and some coastal regions of Greece.
The following year, she had an enriching experience studying abroad in Melbourne, Australia, for the Spring 2025 semester. Through an exchange program with Monash, she took a developmental biology course for her major, two psychology courses for her minor, and a pathology course out of interest for medical school. The program’s residential services offered day trips to the surrounding attractions around Melbourne. Hunter has chosen to be a peer adviser to share her love for study abroad and assist others in finding programs that fit them.
Advice to Prospective Education Abroad Students: It’s a great way to step out of your comfort zone whenever you can: talk to new people, visit new places, try something new, but most importantly, live in the moment. At the beginning, everything may seem overwhelming, from the application process to onboarding and acceptance, and going through with the program. As a peer adviser, I hope to help with the initial steps in the process and help you feel confident about your choice to study abroad.
