Foot traffic on Concord Street will be directed to cross at the top and bottom of the loop. Students in 1st through 5th will enter campus at the gate at the front of the school between the kindergarten wing and the office. This is the only gate open in the AM. Kindergarten and TK students will enter through the Kindergarten/TK gate, as shared by your student’s teachers.
Drop Off
As a reminder, stay in your vehicle when dropping off students on Concord Street and the drive-thru loop. These are both loading and unloading zones during the before and after school time. The loop in front of school is a fire lane and cars should not be parking during the hours of 8:00 - 3:15 for safety vehicle access. If you would like to walk your student to class, please park in the neighborhood.
Pick Up
The 4-5 gate will also be open for students to exit campus. At pick-up, the same foot traffic direction applies.

For parents who are dropping off items for students:
If not already marked, please clearly mark item with student's first and last name AND teacher's name.
Items left for students should be placed on the cart behind the entrance gate of the school office BEFORE 11:30am. Musical instruments can be placed under the bench inside the office.
School policy is that classes will not be disrupted for delivery of items students forgot to take to school. If your student is not expecting a drop off, please email your student's teacher so that they can let your child.
Our office staff works hard to manage all of the tasks necessary to keep Vintage Hills running, and we cannot guarantee that items left for children will be picked up during the school day.
Thank you very much for your cooperation!
Please take a moment to read the school's policy regarding the use of smartphones and other electronic devices during the school day.
Medication At School Site: If you have a student who will have medication at school, they will need a new Medication Consent Form for the 2023/2024 school year. This applies to Prescribed and Over the Counter medication.
Oral Health Form: California law (Education Code Section 49452.8) states your child must have a dental check-up by May 31 of KN in public school. A California licensed dental professional operating within their scope of practice must perform the check-up and fill out Section 2 of the form. For more information, see the Oral Health Notification Letter.
And….We’re off!
It seems like August just flew by. Kids are now adjusting to their new classrooms, teachers and classmates. Over the last two weeks, I was able to visit each classroom and remind students who I am and what a school counselor does. Most importantly, kids learned that a school counselor is just another adult at school who can help them to be successful. As a reminder, all students have an opportunity to benefit from my services through monthly classroom presentations and lunchtime activities. I work closely with classroom teachers to connect with those students who may need a little extra support through small groups and one on one meetings. To find out more about me and my services please feel free to email me directly at ldoherty@pleasantonusd.net. I look forward to a exciting year! 😀
Until next time, here are three easy ways to stay connected to your child throughout the school year.
Get in the habit of asking your child what they liked best about their day? Or, have them tell you about something they learned that day. Ask clarifying questions and details so encourage your child to continue sharing. Avoid asking yes or no questions when starting your daily conversation about school.
Be sure to read everything that comes home. Opportunities to volunteer or upcoming events offer a chance to connect with the school community. Information from your teacher or work completed is a great way to track your child's progress and stay informed. You can use work sent home like drawings or projects to engage in conversations and find out more about what they are interested in.
Lastly, get excited about all things school. Helping kids stay interested and motivated comes easy when they are excited to come to school. If they aren’t here they can’t learn or connect to those around them. Make positive attendance an important part of your child’s school year.
