The PUSD District Family Network is Expanding

Strong partnerships with our families is a critical part of our success. That said, we are pleased to announce the upcoming expansion of our District Family Networks. The PUSD District Family Network currently entails a high level engagement of our African-American Families. Beginning in January of 2024, we will be planning our First Spanish Speaking District Family Network, followed by a South East Asian District Family Network.

Our efforts are in alignment and are in support of PUSD Organizational Work Goal #5, which entails providing service to the community that includes multi-directional communication and efforts to promote authentic engagement and effective partnerships (PUSD Organizational Work Plan).

As we embark upon the expansion of PUSD District Family Networks, we would like to invite our Spanish Speaking and South East Asian communities to participate in the following surveys below.  Your participation (Spanish/South East Asian families) in these surveys will help us identify how to best meet the needs of our Spanish Speaking and South East Asian Communities in an effort to achieve positive academic outcomes and long-term success for our students. Most importantly, our ongoing partnership and engagement will help our students become a resourceful, resilient, responsible and engaged world citizen (PUSD Vision).

PUSD updated its elementary and middle school boundaries last Spring and the Board of Trustees committed to evaluating and adjusting boundaries for high schools for the 2024-25 school year.

District staff and a Stakeholder Committee developed options for the new high school boundaries for consideration.  These options were shared with the community at two meetings on December 4 and 6, 2023. Click here to access the presentation and website information. The District continues to seek input from the community through an online survey (link on website or in the presentation) that is open through December 21, 2023.  Staff will present the new high school boundary options to the Board on January 11, 2024 and seek approval at the January 25, 2024 School Board Meeting.
