As the weather continues to get colder and the rainy season begins, we anticipate more students wearing coats and bringing umbrellas to school. Please remember to LABEL all items sent to school with your child's name. Students can look for their lost items by the front office before and after school.
Please keep your child home if they are not feeling well. Please do NOT send your child to school if they have any of the following symptoms:
Common cold: Keep home during period of productive cough and yellow or green nasal discharge
Fever (over 100 degrees): in some children, a lower temperature represents a fever. Please keep your child home for 24 hours after a fever without the aid of Tylenol or Advil)
Eyes that are red, swollen, crusting or draining
Untreated, draining ears or earache
Diarrhea
Nausea or vomiting (if the pupil has vomited the night before or in the morning, please DO NOT send pupil to school)
Severe sore throat
Skin rashes of unknown origin or contagious rash requires a clearance from a health care provider that student may return to school.
Beginning January 6, 2026, the use of cell phones and smart watches will not be permitted during the school day. This expectation follows our school district policy introduced at the start of the school year and is aligned with California’s Phone-Free School Act (AB 3216), which requires public and charter schools to limit or prohibit student smartphone use. Students may use devices before and after school; however, during school hours—including class time, lunch, and recess—devices must be turned off or placed on “Do Not Disturb” and stored in backpacks or the designated classroom storage area. Students will not be permitted to carry devices on their person or use them to contact families during the school day; school staff and office phones remain available for emergencies. Limited exceptions may be made for instructional purposes under direct teacher supervision, health-related needs with prior administrative approval, or emergencies. This policy supports a safe, focused learning environment while encouraging positive social interaction and physical activity.
We know many of our students are eager to begin their school day. This is a friendly reminder that there is no school supervision available before the gates open.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: Gates open at 8:05 a.m.
Wednesday: Gates open at 9:05 a.m.
If a student arrives before these times, families will need to provide supervision.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
