Week beginning - Monday 12th January 2026
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
This week in Year 5, pupils produced excellent diary entries written from the perspective of a migrant fleeing war or seeking job opportunities. They used vivid description and emotive language, demonstrating strong empathy as well as developing ATL skills such as communication, self-management, and reflection. Through inquiry, pupils tested different materials to see whether they were soluble or insoluble. In maths, children practised long multiplication using the written method, and in PE we focused on gymnastics. They also explored repeated patterns through an inquiry into the Bayeux Tapestry, linking history and design. A fantastic week of thoughtful and active learning!
