Week beginning - Monday 12th January 2026
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
This week Year 3 have turned their talents towards songwriting. After creating a mind map of ideas inspired by Georges Seurat's painting 'A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte', pupils spent time in their groups coming up with song lyrics. These lyrics had to be crafted in a way to fit in to the tune of Vance Joy's 'Riptide', meaning pupils had to count the syllables of their lyrics to match, before performing their creations to the class. Continuing with the musical theme this week, pupils were also listening to a variety of different music genres, comparing how different types of music makes us feel based on the dynamics of the song.
