I am a Special Education teacher that has completed six years of teaching in Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) and who believes in being a champion for my students- a champion that will battle and or advocate for each of my students. I believe that every teacher makes a difference in each student’s life. I believe in advocating for students and teachers building positive relationships to assist with being successful in all areas of life. I work every day to be a positive influence on every student I meet, so that they are prepared for life.
I started teaching at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School in the general education setting. I loved working with the students everyday but a piece of me was missing. I found myself constantly working with the struggling students. I took on the students that were hard and found my passion. I switch over to special education and am absolutely blessed. I jumped with both feet into the Wheeler community last year and it has helped me be a better teacher each day. I volunteer with the girls’ basketball team at Wheeler Middle School. I work closely with others to provide knowledge, experiences, support, and services to individuals in need especially with students that are dyslexic. I am very thankful for the opportunity I have to work as a teacher in OKCPS.
