Each year, Stacey's class takes the lead on our schools food drive - a really important connection that our school has to the wider community.
The class talks about issues of poverty, what it means to be “food insecure” and how we can help members in our community who are in need. Students then create a Calendar of Giving and fill in 10 days with suggestions of the highest priority needs based on conversations with the coordinator at the Westboro Region Food Bank.
Prior to the pandemic, there was an annual tradition of the class taking a field trip to the Westboro Region Food Bank, to take a tour and bake for members of our community. We hope that returns this year.
