Wild Bird Care Centre Visit

Inviting the community into the classroom for learning opportunities is very common in Churchill. Here's one such story from 2019:

On November 8th, Tiiu’s Room 308 enjoyed a visit from Patty and Indigo from the Wild Bird Care Centre.

The class learned about how the Wild Bird Care Centre takes care of injured birds.

We also explored some samples of wings, beaks, and feet from different species of birds to try to understand the differences and how birds adapt to their environments.

The class learned about how some birds use human structures for their homes and what we can do to help them not become extinct by using our man made structures to help them.

The group especially loved meeting Indigo the Kestrel and watching him eat his breakfast.
