Expressing Student Voice through Art Club

Lyne Filion, EA at Churchill, shared this story:

These works of art are from students grade 1 to 6. Each Friday two students from each class come to Art Club to create art. Sometimes it’s a directed activity, sometimes exploratory, and sometimes a bit of both.

This activity was a directed activity and inspired by an artist who works with recycled wood called: Behind the Woods. I loved his work and thought how I have a lot of recycled paper and what a fun way to use it.

What I love about running Art Club is the amazing way that children view the world through their expression of art. They always surprise me and inspire me. I love their confidence!

Thanks so much, Lyne, and to all of the students for sharing their art with us!
