Churchill has a Pollinator Garden!

Churchill has had a native species pollinator garden for about five years thanks to the efforts of students, staff, and in particular one dedicated parent Berit Erickson!

In her post Down to the nitty gritty: creating the Churchill Alternative School butterfly garden Berit Erickson shares how she worked with students at Churchill create the Butterfly Garden in 2019, worked to maintain it during the summer, continued to support garden education at back to school time, and supported the students to sell 150 packets of native plant seeds at the November Churchill Craft Fair.

Check out Berit's post for a lovely story of student engagement and discovery.

Our students and staff continue to maintain the native species pollinator garden and it provides a lot of wonderful colour as well as learning opportunities in the yard.
