This week in PE...
We are finally back in the gym after two HOT weeks outside ☀️ I hope every had a nice Labor Day weekend! Since we had a short week we played our favorite game Castleball in the gym! This was 1st grades first time learning Castleball too!
Kindergarten played a warm-up tag game called toilet tag. If you are tagged by a pool noodle, you turn into a toilet and are frozen until someone comes by and "flushes" you (push your arm down and say WOOOOOSH) Afterwards, Kindergarten played a game called Pin Knock Down where the goal is to protect your bowling pins from getting knocked down AND try to knock down the other team's pins. We are really working on boundary lines and not crossing the NO-crossing middle line of the gym!

This week in PE...
We were back inside our PE classroom/outside on the field this week! Kindergarten, First, and Second grade did some fun fitness stations. They were able to practice lots of skills such as jump rope, hula hoop, kicking a ball, and throwing/catching with a scoop!
3rd-5th grade played a new game we created called "5-Stone." The goal of this game is for runners to stack the "5 stones" on top of eachother without getting tagged by taggers. If runners can stack up their stone tower, they win! If the taggers are able to tag everyone out before they stack their tower, then the taggers win!

This week in PE...
All classes played one of our favorite games called Capture the Chicken! The goal of this game is for your team to capture all 8 rubber chickens! This game is capture the flag, but we use rubber chickens instead of flags because rubber chickens are COOL! 😂 Each team starts with 4 chickens. When you play this game, you are SAFE on your own side... but if you decide to cross over to the other team's side to try to get a chicken, you are at risk of getting tagged. If you are tagged by another player, you must go to that team's "jail." Players must stay in "jail" until someone from their team can save them OR a PE teacher can call a jailbreak and everyone in both jails can get a free walk back to their side!
Kinder and 1st grade played a different version of capture the chicken. They had the same goal of capturing all the rubber chickens BUT if they were tagged, instead of going to jail, they would put their hands up and get a free walk back to their side before they could try to take a chicken again.
I hope everyone has an amazing fall break! The PE blog will continue once we are back!
HAVE A GREAT FALL BREAK!🎃
