This week in PE...
Welcome back from Thanksgiving Break! I hope everyone had some nice family time together during the break.
Our first days back, 1st-4th grade switched class jobs! I paid all my students that had jobs for the last 3 weeks and now a new group of students has a PE class job. They will keep these jobs for the next 3 weeks until after Winter Break.
After jobs, we reviewed SOP's and with the remainder of PE class we went outside for free choice stations. Students could throw a football, frisbee, play soccer, or hula hoop.

This week in PE...
On Monday & Tuesday, all grade levels K-5th played a game called Fitness Uno! Students were in relay style lines and when it was their turn, they would run and grab one UNO card from the bucket. Whatever color Uno card they had was the color cone they would run to. At the cone, there was a poster with an exercise. The number on the Uno card they drew is the amount of repetitions of the exercise they would complete. We had a special card called the "LAP Card." If you drew this card, you had to run one lap around the playing area.
On Tuesday and Thursday K-3rd played another relay style race called Lollipop Paddle Balance Relay. The first person in line had a lollipop paddle and could chose between a beanbag and a ball. The goal was to balance the item on the paddle and go down and back without dropping it. We added different levels to this game so students had to balance the item on a different part of the paddle each round!
4th & 5th grade did a fitness and teamwork activity called "Tire Tug." We attached tug of war ropes to these big tires outside. Students were in teams and had to pull the rope to move the tire as far as they could in a 2 minute time frame. This was a fun challenge and everyone did so amazing!

This week in PE...
1st-5th grade played our beloved favorite game castle ball! The goal of this game is to protect your hula hoop castle from getting knocked down while also trying to throw a dodegball and knock down another team's castle.
Kindergarten played a game that I renamed "Snowball Fight," to celebrate the spirit of winter break. They were protecting "snowmen" aka bowling pins. If a snowman was knocked over they had to set it back up to keep playing. The students were throwing yarn balls which I called "snowballs" to knock over the snowmen.
Thank you to those that read the blog and I hope everyone has an amazing winter break! Cya next year!!!!!
