Throwing Scarves
July 22nd-July 31st:
This 2 weeks in PE...
WELCOME BACK EVERYONE!!! WOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I hope everyone had a great summer break! I had the most relaxing summer. My parents drove from Pennsylvania to come see me for a week and then I spent a week down in Pensacola Florida! The rest of the time I spent with my doggos just relaxing and hanging out.
To start off the school year we reviewed and practiced all of our PE SOP's/Rules.
After setting expectations, K-2nd grade practiced with our throwing scarves while 3rd-5th grade played Coach Scimeca's version of Gagaball. We decided to stay inside the second week of school because the weather was way too hot for a 50 minute outside PE class.
With the throwing scarves, K-2nd students practiced their step, swing, and throw (underhand throwing). With this, we were able to practice catching the scarf on multiple parts of the body such as head, shoulder, arm, knee, foot, and back. We also had several dance parties, did some scarf fitness, and listened to k-pop demon hunters sound track.
For 3rd-5th they played my special version of Gagaball. The goal of the game is to be the last person in the game and you have to whack the gagaball and hit another player knee or below for them to get out. We use super soft foam balls for this game. It gets crazy because as time goes on I will add more gagaballs in!
