Dec 2nd-5th:❄️
This week in PE...
On Monday & Tuesday, 1st-5th grade played Castleball as a fun SOP reminder/team builder.
Kindergarten played a fun tag game called monkeys and bananas. If you get tagged by a monkey (holding a pool noodle), you are frozen and turn into a banana with you arms in the air. To get back in the game a friend who has not been tagged must come and peel your banana (pull arms down body).
On Wednesday & Thursday...
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th played a game called Tower Defense. The goal of this game was to throw a ball and land it inside of another team's tower. The tower with the least amount of foam balls inside of it by the end of time will win the round.

Dec 9th-12th: ☃️🥶❄️
This week in PE...
On Monday and Tuesday all grades K-5th played a different version of castle ball. We even introduced kindergarten to their first castle ball experience! For 1st grade through 5th grade we had a score board up that kept score to see who the ultimate castle ball winner would be at the end of each class. We did not keep score for kindergarten it was just for fun!
On Wednesday and Thursday we utilized our last days in the gym before break. We played another new version of Castle Ball called "Mega Castle Ball." In this version, students had to build a mega hula hoop castle by building 2 castles on top of one another. We talked about teamwork and how building a mega castle is going to take EVERYONE'S help to accomplish.
Kindergarten and First Grade played regular castle ball class vs. class. vs. class vs. class.
Dec 17th - Dec 19th:
This week in PE....
We spent the last two weeks in the gym so it is now Secondary's turn to have the gym for two weeks. When we do not have the gym for PE we have a variety of locations we use for PE such as our PE classrooms, the field, and the area out by carline. We were able to use the gym for 2 of our afternoon classes this week since secondary had half days which was awesome!
On Tuesday and Wednesday...
1st-5th grade played Capture the Chicken. This is same game as Capture the Flag but instead of a flag we use rubber chickens. The goal of the game is for your team to have all 8 chickens on your side. Each team started with 4 chickens so they had to run and try to get the other 4 without getting tagged in the other team's zone.
Kindergarten stayed inside our PE classroom for exercises and some small classroom games.
On Thursday ALL classes were able to go outside for free exploration. Students could pick from a variety of PE equipment to practice with such as soccer balls, jump ropes, hula hoops, throwing and catching scoops, or frisbees.
I hope everyone has an AMAZING winter break and the blog will continue next year!!!😀
