This week in PE...
Welcome back after a little bloggie break! I was super busy with planning Field Day. If you want to see some photos and videos from both our Field Days, there is a Special Field Day TAB at the top of the blog, then you can toggle down to this years Field Day labeled "FIELD DAY 2026." Thank you to everyone that donated snacks and helped volunteer to run stations!
On Monday & Tuesday K-2nd grade played a game called treasure grab. Students had to try and grab a piece of treasure without getting tagged by treasure guards. Treasure Guards held pool noodles and tried to tag students that were trying to take the treasure.
On Wednesday & Thursday K-2nd grade played a scooter relay race where they got to move around on the scooters and collect treasure all around the gym.
3rd-5th grade started official Fitnessgram State Testing this week! These are a variety of fitness tests that the state of Texas requires us to collect data for. This week we did our curl-up test (sit ups) and our pacer test (run test)!

This week in PE...
Grades K-2nd had some station time outside! Students played with hula hoops, beach balls, long jump ropes, soccerballs, and frisbees!
Grades 3rd-5th grade continued Fitnessgram State Testing. On Monday & Tuesday we did one of our flexibility tests to test shoulder flexibility. On Wednesday & Thursday we started collecting body composition data which includes height and weight. With the reminder of class time students were able to have some free choice station time.
On Wednesday we got lucky and were able to use the gym for our first class of the day! Since it was just for one class we played one of our kiddos faorite games Castle Ball!
April 27th-30th: 🏃🏼♀️☀️💪
This week in PE...
Congrats to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade for finishing 2026 Fitnessgram Testing! Over the last month we worked on completing a variety of Fitnessgram Tests that we must submit as data to the state. Fitnessgram testing is done to collect public health data and does not include your child's name when we submit the data. The state of Texas requires Fitnessgram testing once a student reaches 3rd grade. The tests we complete are the Pacer Test, Sit-Up Test, Push-Up Test, Shoulder Flexbility, Trunk Lift (Lower Back Flexibility), and Body Composition (Height & Weight).
This week in PE we were outside on the field for PE. On Monday & Tuesday all grades K-5th worked on their sprinting skills. We did a fun fitness activity where students sprinted to the cone and back. We talked about sprinting vs. running and how they are different.
After out sprinting activity students had about 10 minutes left of class for some choice station activities. They could pick between soccer, jump rope, and hula hooping.
On Wednesday & Thursday our class schedule was a little different because of STAAR Testing. We missed some classes and other classes swapped schedules.
