Check-In is open for the general game population Friday night from 6 pm to 11 pm. For staff members, expedited check-in is from 5 pm to 6 pm.
If you think you will be late to check-in, submit this form. Late check-in must be prearranged by the Thursday before game.
Late check-in times are from 11:30 pm to 1 am on Friday/Saturday and 8 am to noon on Saturday.
A no-notice late check-in is when a player arrives to game outside of normal Check-In hours and has not prearranged for a late check-in. At a player's first no-notice late check-in, they receive a private warning and are put on the infraction list. If there are no further infractions within two years, the player is taken off the list. If there is another attempt made at a no-notice late check-in within two years of the first attempt, the player will not be allowed to check in to that game and will be sent home. Each attempt restarts the two-year cooldown.
Major character changes during game (e.g., Embraces, First Changes, becoming a Fomori) are done at ST camp; after the scene in which the change occurs ends (or reaches a good pause point), head to ST camp. An ST will update the character sheet as needed and will pass on the updates to Check-In.
Check-In does not typically replace lost or damaged tags or rituals. However, in cases of water damage, a tag can be replaced as long as it is still legible. Other cases of legible tags are at the discretion of Check-In team members.
Paper XP tags are no longer accepted. Staff teams report volunteer XP to Check-In via email. If you are unsure if you got credit for volunteering, contact the staff team you volunteered for.
Players can donate on behalf of other players to accumulate XP, but each player's XP pool (as maintained in the check-in spreadsheet) is to remain closed and nontransferable.
Check-In disallows character rewrites. A player may of course reuse a character concept for a new character and go through the CG process for said new character. However, that new character cannot have any knowledge learned by the previously played character (an exclusion to this is going through the conversion process for older characters and playing the old character as written).
Even though the last major rules change was back in 2013, there are still characters who have not been converted. In keeping with our policies, we will continue to offer the option of converting these characters, should their players request it. However, as the conversion process can be time consuming, you must request a conversion of an old character at least two weeks before the event in which you plan to play the character. This way, Check-In can provide a copy of the character sheet to convert and complete as much of the conversion as possible in advance.
Once you have received the electronic copy of the character sheet, apply the basic conversion rules that are provided with the electronic copy of your sheet. Check-In reserves the right to deny conversions of pre-2013 rules set characters requested at site and without advanced notice. If there is anything out of the ordinary about the conversion, Rules team will have the final say in how the conversion is upheld.
