This list is a suggested, general idea of what players pack for their game. Not everyone will pack the same things, but please use this as a rough suggestion of what you may need.
- Bedding: Sleeping bag, pillow(s), enough blankets to stay warm
- Bedding doesn't need to be period-appropriate, but neutral blankets should at least be used to cover neon or modern fabrics.
- Furs and basics sheets are often used on top of sleeping bags.
- Some players hang sheets or tapestries around their bed area to add privacy.
- Element Protection: Bug spray, sunscreen, waterproof outer layers
- Toiletries: Deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, makeup, contacts/contact care,
- Shower Gear: Towel, flip-flops, shampoo, conditioner, soap
- Medication you might need (including pills you may need for fatigue and/or pain)
- Garb for your character
- Remember a cloak or hood in the colder months.
- Bringing at least two outfits is smart, in case of wet or dirt.
- Props for your character
- Goods to sell at market, ritual components, or jello hearts to messily eat
- Weapons/boffers/packets for your character
- Clothes to change into after larp
- Changes of underwear and socks
- For the winter and wetter months, please remember to wear wool socks
- Always bring one more than you think you'll need
- Footwear: proper WATERPROOF boots or shoes
- Please do not bring overly modern footwear such as sneakers.
- If your shoes or boots aren’t waterproof, consider bringing multiple pairs in cases of heavy rain.
- Water bottle (optional): please use one that does not break immersion.
- Snacks (optional): if you are not buying meals at game, please bring your own food to sustain you.
- Energy drinks (optional): if you are not buying drinks at game, please bring your own to sustain you.
- Cell phone and charger
- Be advised: there are limited outlets in buildings.
- All items must be unplugged if no one is around)
The following are Shadow Accord-specific items that you might not have known about otherwise... You're welcome!
- Orange Out-of-Game (OOG) headband
- These are usually worn before you go into character, if you're in garb and don't want to confuse anyone, or if you need to go OOG for an extended time during game.
- White Umbra headband
- White headbands are worn in game (IG) to represent being in the Umbra, or spirit realm. Many players wear these the whole game, and other players often have to pretend as though they do not see them.
- Masks
- Some factions depend on the use of masks to properly represent their powers (like Shifters, who play werewolves, werecats, wereravens, and more, and Wraiths, who can at times turn into animals or weird creations). Without a mask, you usually cannot get the full experience or benefit of that power.
- Character sheet
- You should always keep your character sheet on you, in case you need to reference it or, in extreme cases, change it on-site due to IG actions. Some players also keep cards with their powers written out or even small handbound copies of the rulebook!
- Keep your character sheet in a small ziploc plastic bag to keep it not only safe from the elements but also easier to find in your pouch! Keeping it and any other OOG things in a separate bag makes it easier to separate it out from IG things as well.
- IG money
- Shadow Accord produces our own shillings and pence to use IG. You'll be given coin at check-in for a new character, but if you've already been to game, be sure to bring your coin with you! The easiest way to ensure you get money IG by spending money IG: there's only so much coin and we have to move it around!
Do not bring any of the following to game:
- Alcohol or marijuana
- Drugs that are not prescribed to you
- Dangerous or illegal weapons
- Anything banned in the rulebook or by Safety
