9/2/22 (Metacognitive Assignment

Good morning, friends. Unfortunately, my youngest daughter is sick, and I have to stay at home with her. I am going to post your assignment below. When you complete the assignment, email it to me. Then, you may continue to prepare for your presentations that will begin on Monday.


Please figure out the biggest factor getting in the way of your education or general success in life. Some examples might be procrastination, attitude towards school, perfectionism, time management, discipline, etc. This shouldn’t be too difficult; you already know where you are lacking.

Next, write out a specific goal for improving in that area. For example, “I have seen myself procrastinating more and more lately. I always finish my work, but it's always last minute. Hopefully I can stop this procrastination habit before it gets worse.”

Next, begin researching strategies to succeed in your goal. For example, I would search, “How do I stop being such a procrastinator?” Not all strategies will work with your means, personality, time constraints, etc. When you find strategies that you recognize can help you, save the titles to the websites and web addresses on a Google Document titled Metacognitive Strategies. You should find at least 5-10 strategies. (Avoid vague strategies that lack specific direction such as, “Work hard” or “Pay attention in class.”)

Create a schedule where you can implement at least one of the strategies at least once a day for five days a week. Modify the strategies from your source so that they fit your schedule, life style, bank account, etc. Give a brief explanation for the use of the strategies.

Upon completion, email me your Metacognitive Strategies and schedule. Keep them on the same document. Good luck and have an awesome Labor Day Weekend, and I will see you next Tuesday!
