Hola amigos! Como esta? Muy Bien!

I always wanted to learn enough Spanish to begin a school year speaking it throughout the entire first day to really frustrate my students. Too bad that never happened. Here is what did happen today.

• We began with 15 minutes of sustained silent reading.

• Next, students completed the following activity:

PLEASE CREATE Three Independent Clauses: Each clause must be more than three words, each must have different subjects and verbs.

PLEASE CREATE Three Dependent Clauses: Each clause must be more than three words, each must have different subjects and verbs from each other as well as the original Independent Clauses.

I walked around the room and checked every person's work to make sure that he/she understood the difference between independent and dependent clauses.

• After that, we continued in MyPerspectives. We completed the Academic Vocabulary: Explanatory Text section on page 3 as well as the "My Introduction to Gothic Literature" selection on page 4.
