10/17/22

Hello and welcome back after the lovely weekend.

To begin the day, students read for fifteen minutes.

Following this, we looked at a series of compound-complex sentences and figured out how to label the clauses. Students also showed that they could figure out how to punctuate the sentences correctly.

Next, students moved into groups and discussed their annotations for the genre stories. People in the Gothic literature camp moved into groups of four and reviewed what they found with their partners, and the Magical Realism folks did the same thing.

To end, everyone moved back to their seats, and I revealed the final for the unit--The Genre Narrative Writing Assignment. I spent the remainder of the period going over requirements and expectations. For homework, students should review the assignment and think about how long they will need to complete it. In class tomorrow, I will discuss what students decided and make a decision at the end of the day after talking to all three classes. In the meantime, folks should begin thinking about what they would like to do and start planning their stories.
