Electricity Fair

Grade/Class: Grade 6 STEM

Context: Students learn about circuitry in Science class.

Learning: In this science project, students designed and constructed inventions using electric motors that demonstrated the conversion of electrical energy into mechanical motion. Through this project, students learned about circuit components such as motors, wires, batteries, and switches. They gained hands-on experience in designing a device and creating detailed labeled diagrams. By collecting materials and building their creation, students also developed practical skills in assembling circuits and troubleshooting. The trial-and-error process enhanced their problem-solving abilities, while fostering resilience and patience when resolving conflicts. Finally, students presented their device at an "Electricity Fair" and reflected on the project's process, consolidating their understanding of electrical circuits and their applications.
