The aim is to give the pupils access to a different software package with a different purpose. Many of the skills are copied across, drawing shapes and slowly building up layers of complexity.
Example teaching pattern might be;
· Introduce the software. Draw a square and begin to model a house by drawing up walls and creating a roof and windows.
· Once the pupils have used a few push and pull tools and have looked at painting objects. Allow them to extend their houses. Show how to make windows by creating squares within squares to build up detail.
· Design the inside of a house. Look at making furniture (chairs and tables).
Final project is to build a 3D model of the school.
For the ICT assessment children will be expected to
identify and create a spreadsheet.
In addition, children will be expected to record data and be able to use formulas and functions.
