What is happening in week 15:
Topic - Talking about places we know and visited in Qatar.
Literacy - We are reading and listening to the story of Khaled and Noura “What’s in the sand?”.
Maths - We are revising numbers already learned.
Fine Motor Skills - As we are preparing them for drawing and later on formation of numbers/letters more towards F2, we are going to strengthen our finger muscles by:
Arabic activities:
Sunday - Arabic story reading and decorating the national flag.
Monday - Decorating learned sounds.
Tuesday - Arabic games in the Garden.
- Wearing painted Arabic sound shirt
Wednesday - Celebrating Qatar National Day by wearing traditional clothes to school.
- Tasting traditional food.
- Arabic assembly and receiving a gift.
Reports: Can be collected from Wednesday, 12 December at 12:30.
School will close: Thursday, 13 December 2018 and restart on 6 January 2019.

What is happening in week 12:
Topic - We are making ocean in a bottle and talking about how to take care of the animals in the ocean.
Literacy - As it is Book week we will be reading the story of “The Rainbow fish”. We will be drawing the character in the book, making our own book and listening to the story.
Maths - We are counting objects to 5 and playing “bowling” games to count how many skittles does not fall over.

We will celebrate book week from Sunday, 18 November till Thursday, 22 November. We will be doing all
sorts of activities around our book of the week “The Rainbow Fish”
Topic - Using different recycling materials to make musical instruments and sing “Animals in the ocean” song.
Literacy - The story/song of the week is “Hole in the bottom of the sea”. We will be discussing different animals in the ocean and how we can take care of their environment so they will live happily.
Maths - In small groups they will count out objects to 5 and connect songs and starfish shape activities.

we will be holding an “Ocean Clean Up Day” as part of our topic 'Under the Sea'. The children are learning about recycling as part of the topic and will take part in activities to help 'clean up' our 'oceans'. We will be using small paddling pools in our school garden, filling them with water and recyclable materials and the children will sort them into different containers.
Please send the following items to school:
Swimsuit Towel
Hat Suncream
Plastic bag (for wet clothes) Flip flops/pool shoes
Please send the children to school wearing their uniform and we will assist them
to get changed into their swimming clothes at the time of the activities.

This Thursday, 8 November will be "Road Safety Day" where we will be doing road safety awareness activities.
They can come to school dressed in the traffic light colours; red, yellow/orange or green (no uniform needed).
Topic - Making our own instrument to sing along to under the sea songs.
Literacy - The story of the week is “Penguin on Holiday”. We will be discussing items we can take to the beach and why we use them.
