🎃 Happy Halloween week! 🎃
Course representatives - We currently don't have any course representatives and would like to offer you the opportunity to you all. You can sign up to become Reps at www.hallamstudentsunion.com/reps . You can log in with your student credentials and complete a short form to register and be automatically added to a central list of Course Rep Signups. This process takes the student around 3-5 minutes and is explained in more detail later in this document. NB: Students don’t need to be elected to become a Course Rep, and there is no limit to the number of students who can be Course Reps.
Communication channels - please refer to this if you are unsure who to contact - who to contact information. Please note we operate a 48h response time. Please do not forward your query/email/message to other staff until you have allowed the appropriate time to respond. Please note some staff are part time which you may need to allow for.
Academic Advisors - There are lists in the induction folders on your blackboard organisational sites. Please make sure you are engaging with your AA. They are there to help you.
Year Leads - you can contact us via the Microsoft teams chat and year channels or via email

•Critical Writing
This time around we have also added a recommended complementary programme – which includes peer writing sessions, feedback seminars, referencing workshops and digital skills sessions.
All details can be found here – and it includes a video of lovely feedback from participants last semester. Click on the ‘book now’ link to see the full programme of sessions: https://libguides.shu.ac.uk/bootcamp/home

Group rep meeting - Claire will be holding the first group rep meeting on November 25th. If you have any feedback please ensure you have communicated this with your group rep.
Modules:
FPP - face to face and online live sessions next week. There is pre session work so please check the MSK folder in the FPP blackboard site.
MSK - module teaching continues. Look out for information about collecting our loan MSK kit bags from the Technician's.
PPD/CICW- Please make sure you check the folders ahead and see if there is any pre session work and the module leaders may not remind you
The final deadline for ordering uniform is October 31st at this link https://www.uniforms4healthcare.com/pages/sheffield-hallam-university-courses-funded
Placement - Please note that the deadline for expressing an interest in self-sourcing your PP1 placement in January must be made to hwb-PhysioPlacementQueries-mb@exchange.shu.ac.uk by Monday Nov 1st 2021 9am.
Final placement provider offers for PP1 are coming in from Trusts, and we hope to start allocating these in the next few weeks. Please start preparing your SWOT and mini-CV so you are ready to get in touch as soon as your placement details are released. Remember lots of staff will be on holiday around the Christmas break. We will contact those of you who did not complete your ACRDM placement to discuss plans individually.
APP1 - hope placement is going well. Please ensure you share your placement learning objectives with your AA and negotiate convenient plans for the midway call with your educator.
PCCM - Just a gentle reminder to look out for an appropriate case study for your PCCM Summative assessment.
Have a good weekend!
Peter

You should be continuing to take Lateral Flow tests prior to attending University face to face sessions. The SHU guidance can be found here. If you receive a positive test please follow the national guidance and book a PCR Test to confirm. If you need to self isolate, please remember to inform your academic advisor / Year Lead and click on 'report a case'. You do not need to inform the Course Leader about your absence.
