We went out this week on our first trip and it was fantastic! We walked to Stratford Park where we had a picnic lunch. It was great to sit outside with our friends and chat while we enjoyed our food. Then we packed up and headed up to Stratford were we spotted some different buildings. Some had changed a lot from the old pictures we had. The walk back was very long but we managed it. Mr Fortune was so proud of us for how well we did on our first trip.

This week Miss Dempsey and Mrs Burke spoke to us about charity and the fundraising they do to help others. They walked half a marathon to raise money for others. This links to our book, Last Stop on Market Street where CJ and Nana give back to the community and help others by working in a soup kitchen.
How do you help others who need it?

This week we took part in the Havest Live event. We watched farmers across the country harvest their crops and helped the presenters to make a Rainbow Salad using the ingredients. We even had the chance to asked questions online and we recieved a shout out from the famers and presenters. Check out below to watch the event and see if you can spot our shout out.
Later in the week we worked together to create our own Rainbow Salads which were very tasty.

In Science we have been looking at the Human Body. As part of this we have been learning to identify and name different body parts. We also looked at which body parts are used to control our senses. We explored all 5 of our senses in class using different materials to help us. We loved the smell test and the taste test was delicious! Even Miss Mohammad couldn't stop herself from coming in to see all the fun.

We have been learning about Ourselves and Our Community. As part of this we took a look at some artefacts from the past. Some of these items would have been used when our parents and grandparents were our age. We have loved being able to explore and examine these objects. We asked a lot of questions and tried to figure out the answers.Â

We have been working very hard in English with our book, Last Stop on Market Street. This week we were very excited to see some of the characters come to life and visit us in our classroom. We got the chance to ask questions and find out more about them and why they were on this bus to Market Street with CJ and Nana.
