As we close out Academic Year 2024–2025, I am filled with gratitude for all that we have accomplished together. This year has been one of remarkable growth, collaboration, and creativity across the departments within and beyond our division.
Where are you from originally and/or currently?
I am a 5th generation Arizonan. I was born in Winslow and raised in Heber. I graduated from Snowflake High School.
What is your educational background?
I hold an MBA and several certificates.
What do you love doing the most in your work?
Helping people reach their potential, seeing them succeed, and learning from them.
If you were to take a course in something, what would it be?
Art or creative writing.
What are your favorite things to do/eat/read?
Do: Spend time with my family. We have a great family who love to spend time together. A lot of laughter.
Eat: I love anything spicy
Read: I read all genres and topics. My family has a kind of book club. Each month one of us will pick a book that we all read and then we talk about it. We have read everything from To Kill a Mockingbird to The Devil Wears Prada.
What goal are you dreaming about completing?
I have a few unfinished novels. I would love to complete them and have one published. My wife tells me they are good.
Early College is winding down TALON registration. This semester's registration has gone much smoother than it has in the past, proving that the fixed TALON schedule is working well and our high school partners are appreciating the new process. We are also finishing up the last of the NAVIT registrations for the fall 2025 semester. With these 2 programs, Early College already has over 800 students registered for the fall.
The Early College Advisors are planning on attending high school award ceremonies and graduations over the next few weeks, in addition to recruitment and advising to best support our students. Once all of the graduations and award ceremonies are attended, we will shift our focus to building the dual enrollment classes and planning for fall school visits.
The Library held an activity at NPC's recent Eagle Fest at the Silver Creek Campus. Participants were invited to create their own embossed paper strip bookmark. They chose from a rainbow of colors and determined their own pattern for applying the strips to their bookmark. They then chose from six embossed patterns to add texture to their bookmark. As an optional finishing touch, they could choose to add a reading quote. No two bookmarks were the same, and the level of creativity displayed was awesome! See the May 2025 Library newsletter for photos of many of the participants and their bookmarks.
Hello and happy May to you all. It’s hard to believe we are coming to the close of yet another semester here at NPC. It has been a busy one for all of us!
OAI is gearing up for a big change over the summer! Effective July 1, 2025 the Office of Accessibility and Inclusion (OAI) will have a name change. The new name will be Student Accommodation Services (SAS), you might have seen the email sent out to all on Monday, April 28, 2025. Please note that all services and support remain the same, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Summer will be a good time for us to rebrand and continue to build strong partnerships with both our NPC partners and our community partners!
