Year 7

This term, our Year 7 students have been immersing themselves in Scratch, a beginner-friendly platform that allows them to create interactive stories, games, and animations.

Scratch, developed by the MIT Media Lab, allows users to create interactive stories, games, and animations by dragging and dropping code blocks. Its intuitive interface makes it accessible to students of all ages, even those with no prior coding experience.

By experimenting with coding concepts and exploring their own ideas, students are developing critical thinking skills and gaining confidence in their ability to tackle complex challenges. In addition to its educational benefits, Scratch also promotes collaboration and peer learning. Students often work together in pairs or small groups to troubleshoot problems, share ideas, and provide feedback on each other's projects. This collaborative environment fosters a sense of community and empowers students to learn from one another.
