Duke of Edinburgh

Duke of Edinburgh 2023-24 Update:

We have had a fantastic year so far with our 2023-2024 Duke of Edinburgh cohort, with seven bronze teams, two silver teams and our first cohort of gold students signing up to begin the next module.

So far this year the bronze and silver students have been busy completing their skills, volunteering and physical sections on eDofE, with some students even already in the process of completing assessors reports to sign off their sections for the awards.

The bronze students have participated in many units of work so far to enable them to have a successful expedition, which we are beginning next module with our first practice expedition going out in the first week of Module 5. Students have covered a vast variety of units from first aid, highway code, route planning, compass work, tent building and cooking in an open area! It has been fantastic to also see a lot of our silver students volunteering at these sessions and using their knowledge from last year to help our bronze cohort.

We are now looking forward to the modules ahead where students will be able to put their knowledge and skills to the test when they go out on their expeditions, where the bronze teams will be navigating the countryside of Meopham and the silver teams will be trailing the routes of Ashdown Forest in East Sussex.
