What is Section 504? According to the Texas Education Agency, Section 504 protects people with a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity, such as caring for one's self, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, working, performing manual tasks, and learning. If you have any questions about Section 504, please reach out to me. I can help answer your questions and investigate your concerns.
I have worn many hats in the past 20 years as an educator. I began my teaching career as a special education teacher at Sundown ISD. While at Sundown, I also taught reading, social studies, math, physical education, technology applications and served as the district librarian. I moved to Boys Ranch ISD to further my opportunities in administration as an elementary and middle school principal and a district-level administrator. I just completed my fifth year at Lubbock-Cooper ISD, and I am currently the campus 504 coordinator. Students aspire to make the world bright and secure a safe place for themselves within our school community. My educational career focus is building dynamic, motivated, and happy students. Education is my passion; however, beekeeping is my current delight. My apiary demands patience and requires taking time to be still. This quiet balance helps to keep me healthy and happy.
