On Wednesday 25th, Thursday 26th & Friday 27th May The Hundred of Hoo Secondary phase held three days of events to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. As this is such a momentous moment in History the Academy wanted to create something special for the pupils to remember.
The Main Hall paid host to "Royal Street" where members of the Royal family watched the celebrations in action and there were photo opportunities for pupils and staff alike to pose with the Queen, as well as look at some photos of past celebrations in the local area and play a round of "Pin the Crown on the Queen".
Footage of the coronation played on the large screen while students tucked in to their Street Party picnic food and 1950s music played in the background to set the scene.
The Main Hall had a 1952 make-over in honour of the Jubilee.
An actual 1952 newspaper celebrating the coronation.
Photos of local jubilee celebrations of the past and a genuine souvenir guide from the coronation.
Secondary pupils were given the opportunity to choose from a selection of activities to take part in after their Street Party lunch.
We all know the Queen loves a bright outfit, but can you match her dresses to the Ph Scale?
As well as all the fun photographed, the Humanities department ran a Royal Family tree session and a quiz to test students' Royal knowledge!
The St Werburgh Centre enjoyed their own Bunting Making Sessions in their form rooms.
Ms Purnell ran a traditional games session which included a giant Connect4 and Jenga set as well as Pin the Tail in the Corgi and a Colouring Table.
