We celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee with a range of activities for the whole week. All classes chose to use their art skills to create pictures of the Queen using different artists to represent her and a variety of different skills. Some classes recreated the Queen’s National Anthem and shared it with the rest of the school. Children were also involved in baking biscuits or cake for the Jubilee celebrations.
Over the course of three days, we had parents in school for a cream tea that they enjoyed with their children, with all of our areas being decorated with bunting. All classes had the opportunity to paint a commemorative ceramic plate that they were able to take home to commemorate the Jubilee. Each class from Nursery to Year 6, also contributed an item to put in a time capsule that was buried at the church in Allhallows. The school will be invited to dig this up in the very distant future! We ended the week with a red, white and blue day, where the children came into school wearing these colours! Overall, we all had a fabulous week!
