The Halley Academy hosted a fantastic Platinum Jubilee Soiree on 25th May which included student artworks, 'Music Through the Ages' musical performances, a fabulous afternoon tea provided by Cucina and ended with tree planting. Parents and staff joined the event and we listened to an impressive programme of solo, group and musical performances, followed by a sing along to Elton John's 'I'm Still Standing'.
Other Jubilee celebrations included reading competitions, science talks and activities and a Year 10 Platinum Pudding competition. Rivalling the top TV bakery shows, a truly inclusive and diverse group of Year 10 students produced the most wonderful bakes, fit for a Queen.
