Oaks Primary Academy

Oaks Primary Academy had an action packed (yet regal) week commencing on May 23rd. Classes embarked on research projects to document Britain throughout the Queen’s illustrious and fantastic reign. Not only did classes research the Queen’s life and achievements, but they also designed royal themed artwork in preparation for our celebrations on May 27th.

Art work, clay modelling, bunting and poetry were all on display in our Jubilee exhibition which all parents were invited to in our school hall to conclude our celebrations. Staff and children alike had an amazing afternoon celebrating the Platinum Jubilee with a jubilee picnic style lunch, ice cream and an array of typically British summer fete games. Tug of war, Union Jack, a coconut shy, hook a duck and our very own hobby horse Ascot racing were fabulous fun and a superb way to celebrate the end of term and the momentous Jubilee!
