At LAB, we celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee with an afternoon of celebratory events. We focussed on the theme of ‘How has Britain changed and progressed in the 70 years since Queen Elizabeth took the throne? Our assembly looked at changes in society including changes in fashion, music, politics and diversity and equality. It was an opportunity to reflect and celebrate how much more intercultural we've become.
Our Jubilee style lunch was enjoyed by all, with some additions to our Friday fish and chips, including cake, jelly and ice lollies.
There was an opportunity to reflect on the following important questions to help support students’ bunting design:
What can we be proud of when it comes to the changes to our nation over the last 70 years?
What are the positive events that have occurred that have affected your life and the wider community?
Finally, we completed a quiz which was designed by our incredible Student Government. Each round of the quiz had a different focus, including questions on our local area and its significance, as well as the huge changes in cultural diversity seen in the UK over the past 70 years.
