At King Henry VIII College, we take great pride in our appearance, and this is reflected in our school uniform policy. Our uniform is a symbol of our unity and identity as members of the KH8 community. Students are expected to wear the uniform correctly and with pride, ensuring that they are a credit to themselves and to the school.

Uniform and Appearance

1. Black and formal school shoes are required, trainers of any kind are not allowed. Please see pictures below for further details. 

2. Top buttons should be done up, and ties should be tied fully to the neck.

3. Skirts must be knee-length or below.

4. Shirts should be tucked into trousers/skirts at all times.

5. Only official King Henry VIII College pullovers or cardigans and ties are permitted.

6. Certain formal occasions require a particularly high standard of dress, which includes a school blazer.

7. Hair should be neat and tidy, it should not be shaved, sculptured, or dyed, it should not impair vision.

8. Facial piercings (nose/eyebrows) are not allowed; tattoos are not permitted.

9. For girls - Jewellery and make-up should be discreet. Small stud earrings are suitable, there should be one in each ear, at most. Boys are not permitted to wear jewellery.

10. Sixth Form wear business attire, which includes smart suits, trousers, skirts (knee length or below), shirts, ties, and shoes. No white socks for gentlemen. 

11. School uniforms or the official school sports kit must be worn throughout the day up to 5:00 p.m. Students may wear non-school sports kit or smart casuals after 5.00pm.

12. Students must wear school uniforms when going on school trips, unless authorised otherwise by a member of staff.

PE KIT

1. Only official kit should be worn for PE and school sports, either for sports sessions or school fixtures.

2. Appropriate footwear must be worn, this includes sports trainers, football/rugby boots, and squash trainers if using the courts.

3. Students must change into uniform after PE sessions - going to other classes or lunch in PE kit is not permitted.

4. No jewellery is to be worn during PE or sports.
